Firda is an English Literature graduate from Hasanuddin University who has shown an interest in education since her first year in college. Firda spent her first 3 years studying and working as an English tutor for all levels at one of the most leading learning centers in Makassar. From this experience, she began to understand the learning challenges as well as students’ needs in the learning process.

In addition, her desire to be involved in resolving issues around her has led her to be active in various local communities. These include: CEGAT Indonesia (a non-profit organization that focuses on developing rural communities), Green Makers by MallSampah (an environmental community that has interest in environmental education counseling and waste sorting) and lastly Retour Academy by Agrowth (a tourism village community development activity funded directly by East West Center Hawai’i through YSEALI Small Grant Competition 2021).

However her activities didn’t only stop there, along with her two friends, Firda also built a small community called CHARITY (Children as Priority) that aims to uphold children’s rights in every aspect of life. All of these experiences in the fields of education, environment and human rights has prompted her desire to pursue a career in the non-profit sector, and eventually worked as a Project Officer at the INSPIRASI Foundation for the Remedial Program for basic numeracy funded by the Asian Development Bank Institute.
